President Duterte assures wounded soldiers and civilians of full gov’t care


CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Friday, September 21, visited the wounded soldiers and civilians who are currently confined at the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital to check on their condition and boost their morale personally. The President also assured them of full recovery under the government’s care.

The 10 Wounded-In-Action (WIA) soldiers and two civilians were injured during various military offense operations in the area of responsibility of the 4th Infantry Division.

The soldiers visited by the President were Pvt. Jerome Radoc, CAA Raymond Quillano, Cpl. Gabie Jun Cabajes III, PFC Aldrie Calayca, Pvt. Joeberto Laguna, PFC Junling Espinosa, PFC Renie Gerzon, Pvt. John Paul Tapayan, Pvt. Vic Berlon, and SSg. Manny Valdez.

The injured civilians, on the other hand, were Lito Tayco and Jimmy Unabia.

During his visit, President Duterte had a friendly chat with the wounded troops and civilians. He then honored them by awarding the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the rank of Kampilan.

The Commander-in-Chief confers the prominent award on the officials, government personnel, and private individuals who are severely wounded or suffered a significant loss of property as a direct result of their participation in an action supporting a campaign or advocacy of the President.

Furthermore, President Duterte provided each awardee with a mobile phone, financial assistance, Caliber .45, and a watch.

The President’s visit to Camp Evangelista Station Hospital came right after his two engagements in Cebu. ###PND
