Sa kanyang talumpati, binigyang-diin ni Pangulong Marcos na ang positibong epekto ng proyektong ito ay magpapabilis sa paggalaw at transaksyon, at magpapalakas sa ekonomiya ng bansa. Kapag natapos na ang NLEX Connector, magbibigay ito ng alternatibong ruta na magpapabilis ng biyahe para sa mga motorista, at magpapadali sa paglipat ng mga kargamento at kalakal mula sa hilaga hanggang sa timog, lalo na ang mga galing sa Port of Manila.
