An agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organization (ARBO) in North Cotabato received a Php 1.873-million worth of 4 -wheel drive tractor from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to boost their livelihood activities.
Rutchil Omadle, Upper Baguer Credit Cooperative (UBCC) Chairman, said that the farm machine provided by the DAR would be a big help to the members and the rice farming community in the area.
“The availability of the tractor could help the organization generate additional income by serving the combined 80.1 hectares owned by the ARBO members, and other areas in the neighboring barangays,” he said.
Omadle further said that they are committed to making the project last for a longer period of time to serve its purpose.
The 35-horse power farm tractor, with implements, is provided under the DAR’s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program and aims to enhance and sustain the agricultural productivity of agrarian reform communities as an adaptation measure towards climate change resiliency.
Atty. Milagros Isabel Cristobal, DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Office, said the farm mechanization is being prioritized by the department as this administration marches towards the attainment of the country’s food security.
“This machinery is seen to enhance the rice enterprise of the cooperative, which will help in addressing our food security as well as sustaining the income generation activity of the ARBO,” she said.
Accompanying Cristobal in the turnover of the machinery were Pigcawayan Mayor Juanito Agustin, Regional Director Mariannie Lauban-Baunto, and other DAR and local government officials.
The provision of farm machinery to UBCC of Pigcawayan, North Cotabato, is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III to help the farmers improve their livelihood activity.

Isang agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organization (ARBO) sa North Cotabato ang nakatanggap ng Php 1.873-million na halaga ng 4-wheel drive tractor mula sa Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) para palakasin ang kanilang mga aktibidad pang-kabuhayan.
Sinabi ni Rutchil Omadle, Upper Baguer Credit Cooperative (UBCC) Chairman, na malaki ang maitutulong sa mga kasapi at ng rice farming community sa kanilang lugar ng farm machine na ipinagkaloob ng DAR.
“Ang pagkakaroon ng traktora ay makatutulong sa samahan na magkaroon ng mas malaking kita sa pamamagitan ng pagse-serbisyo sa kabuuang 80.1 ektarya na pag-aari ng kasapi ng ARBO, gayundin ang iba pang lugar sa mga kalapit na barangay,” aniya.
Idinagdag pa ni Omadle na sila ay nakatuon upang mas tumagal ng mas mahabang panahon ang proyekto at at makamtan ang layunin nito.
Ang 35-horse power na traktora ay naipatupad sa pamamagitan ng Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program ng ahensiya na naglalayong mapalakas ang produktibidad sa agrikultura ng agrarian reform communities upang maka-adapt tungo sa pagbabago-bago ng klima.
Sinabi ni Atty. Milagros Isabel Cristobal, DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Office, na ang farm mechanization ay binibigyang prayoridad ng ahensiya habang administrasyon ay naglalayon din patungo sa food security ng bansa.
“Inaasahan na ang makinarya ay magpapalakas sa negosyo ng bigas ng kooperatiba, na makatutulong upang matugunan seguridad sa pagkain at mapataas ang income generation activity ng ARBO,” aniya.
Kasama ni Cristobal sa turn over ng makinarya sina Pigcawayan Mayor Juanito Agustin, Regional Director Mariannie Lauban-Baunto, at iba pang opisyal ng DAR at lokal na pamahalaan.
Ang probisyon ng makinarya para sa UBCC ng Pigcawayan, North Cotabato, ay alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. kay DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III, na matulungan ang mga magsasaka na mapabuti ang kanilang mga aktibidad pangkabuhayan.
