Thousands of Filipinos from all walks of life started gathering at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila as early as Sunday morning to witness the kick-off rally of the “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who is expected to lead the gathering tonight.
President Marcos will highlight “Bagong Pilipinas” as a call for deep and fundamental transformation in all sectors of society and government to foster a unified commitment towards nation-building as he is expected to urged everyone to embody the characteristics of a “Bagong Pilipino.”
A “Bagong Pilipino” is the one who pursues excellence, innovation, and progress in their daily routine.
Rapper Andrew E. is one of the featured performers along with Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, Rita Daniela, Aegis, Ronnie Liang, Agsunta, Skusta Clee, Ken Chan, Geneva Cruz, Florante, Plethora, 4th Impact, Poppert Bernadas, Julia Serad, and Princess Vire.
James Barrantes, 21, student of Makati Science Technological Institute of the Philippines, who is one of the attendees of the kick-off rally, said that he wants to support the administration of President Marcos and to witness how the “Bagong Pilipinas” unfolds.
“Nandito kami para suportahan ang Presidente natin,” Barrantes said.
“Bilang estudyante marami kaming gustong malaman kung ano ‘yung kailangan naming malaman lalo na magiging criminologist ako, kailangan naming malaman ‘yung mga batas na gusto niyang ipaabot sa Pilipinas,” he added.
For Barrantes, “Bagong Pilipinas” means unity among the Filipino people and progress for the Philippines.
“Bagong Pilipinas” is an overarching theme of the administration’s brand of governance and leadership, characterized by a principled, accountable and dependable government reinforced by unified institutions of society. *|PND*
