We wish to inform you that as Chair of the ASEAN-Japan Summit, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte discussed the following items:

• The President mentioned Japan’s free and open Indo Pacific strategy complements the master plan on ASEAN interconnectivity known as MAPC 2025.

• PRRD talked about Japan’s support for strengthening ASEAN’s media industry, especially in the areas of broadcasting and in promoting media and information

• The Chief Executive expressed gratitude to Japan – and fellow ASEAN members — for assisting in the response of the early recovery phase of Marawi City and for continuing to stand with the Philippines in the rehabilitation of Marawi. He further said that the Philippines would forward stronger cooperation through Japan-ASEAN through counter terrorism dialogue.

• PRRD likewise enjoined the international community for calling DPRK to comply with all its obligations and all relevant Security Council resolutions.
