PBBM signs new law creating “Barangay Guinhalinan” in Barobo, Surigao del Sur


President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has signed into law Republic Act No. 11986, creating a barangay in the Municipality of Barobo, Province of Surigao del Sur to be known as “Barangay Guinhalinan.”

In a four-page law signed by President Marcos on March 21, it stated that the Commission on Elections (Comelec) shall conduct and supervise a plebiscite to be held in Brgy. Guinhalinan within three months from the effectivity of the RA 11986 to be shouldered by the Municipality of Barobo.

The Barobo Municipal Mayor shall appoint a Punong Barangay, seven Sangguniang Barangay members, a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman and seven SK councilors until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified.

A complete copy of the law was published on the Official Gazette where clauses on Public Infrastructure and Facilities; National Tax Allotment Shares; and Repealing Clauses are stipulated while the law takes effect 15 days after its publication. PND
