PBBM: Govt to continue providing high-quality, well-paying jobs to Filipinos

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is resolutely dedicated to providing high-quality and well-paying job opportunities for the Filipino workforce, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said on Friday.

Under the Marcos administration, the PCO pointed out that the labor market saw significant progress, with unemployment dropping from 5.3 percent in August 2022 to 4.4 percent in August 2023 while underemployment improved from 15.9 percent in August 2022 to 11.7 percent in the same month this year.

To enhance employability, President Marcos signed the Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act (Republic Act No. 11692) while the Senate has approved the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Act with the launching of the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document (NIASD) for 2023-2032, all of which are expected to create more job opportunities.

By focusing on these key initiatives, the PCO said that the government is aiming to propel the nation toward a more resilient and prosperous future, “ensuring that the Filipino workforce not only survives but thrives in an evolving job market.” PND
