Location Negros Occidental

Q: Mr. President, can we ask you what you discussed…?

PRESIDENT MARCOS: I’m sorry?

Q: What’s your instruction, sir? Instructions for the local officials, sir? Very short, what was discussed?
PRESIDENT FERDINAND R. MARCOS JR.:
 What was discussed?

Q: Yes, among them, sir?
PRESIDENT MARCOS: Well, the first thing I asked was what – ano ‘yung pangangailangan. Kung mayroon pang kulang dito sa support na ibinibigay natin sa mga evacuees at saka ‘yung mga na-displace, ‘yung wala sa evacuation center pero wala sa bahay nila.

So, tuloy-tuloy lang naman ‘yun, that will be continued. Pero now ang mahabang diskusyon is ‘yung long term, paano natin gagawin.

Maraming mga magagandang idea ang mga mayor at saka ang provincial government para mawala na talaga ang mga nakatira doon sa loob ng danger area, four kilometers. Sana mailabas natin sa six kilometers. Also, the proposals na magkakaroon ng permanent evacuation center sa labas ng danger area so that in case mag-alert level 4, mayroong tatakbuhan lahat ng tao.

Iyong usapan namin umabot hanggang sa relocation na para kahit na anong gawin ng Kanlaon mayroong pupuntahan ang tao. And they can continue to make a living, may hanapbuhay pa rin sila, tuloy-tuloy pa rin ‘yung kanilang ano.

So, we will have to… Maraming agencies concerned. Essentially because of all the plans that the local government officials have given us, because of all of that, we are going to consolidate it and we are forming a task force that will be led by OCD. Oo.

Kasi there are many – maraming agencies ang kasama dito sa mga pinaplano natin. So, that’s what we have discussed and that’s what we – iyan ang ways forward namin.

Q: The OCD will put together the proposals for long term solutions, sir?

PRESIDENT MARCOS: I’m sorry?

Q: That will be – the OCD will coordinate with solutions for the long-term response?

PRESIDENT MARCOS: Yes, they will head the task force.

Q: The immediate response, sir?

PRESIDENT MARCOS: I’m sorry?

Q: Mayroon kayong tulong ngayon na immediate response?

PRESIDENT MARCOS: Well, it won’t stop.
