President Rodrigo Roa Duterte Meets with Returning OFW
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence Go gave a warm welcome to returning overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Pahima Alagasi and her family during a meeting at the Coco's South Bistro Restaurant in Davao City on April 14, 2018.
During the meeting, the President expressed his happiness over the resolution of the case of Alagasi who was allegedly abused by her employer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia some four years ago.
The President then reiterated his administration's compassion towards OFWs citing that the government is willing to help the Filipinos based in the Middle East. But while the President, expressed his compassion towards OFWs, he also reminded them to be extra careful in the dealing the laws and customs of foreign countries.
The President handed over a check worth P100,000 and cash worth P20,000 from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to the family while the Special Assistant to the President gave Alagasi a Cherry Mobile Phone Selfie Flare S6. Alagasi was also offered an employment opportunity as a Welfare Officer at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Riyadh.
The returning OFW, for her part, expressed her gratitude to the President as well as Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello

Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang unang Joint National Peace and Order Council (NPOC) and Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) meeting sa taong ito, ngayong araw ika-25 ng Abril. Sa sectoral meeting ngayong araw, tinutukan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang mga hakbang laban sa online sexual abuse or exploitation of children (OSAEC) at child sexual abuse or exploitation materials (CSAEM) sa bansa. Tinalakay din ang mga panuntunan para sa contract of service (COS) at job order (JO) workers sa mga pampublikong tanggapan.
Sa town hall consultation na pinamunuan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Occidental Mindoro, naipaabot ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda ang kanilang mga hinaing at pangangailangan sa pamahalaan. Siniguro ni PBBM ang sama-samang aksyon ng gobyerno sa mga idinulog ng agricultural community gaya ng maasahang storage facilities, sapat na livestock vaccines, at mas mataas na presyo para sa kanilang produkto.
