PBBM vows to push agri courses for PH students

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday vowed to promote agriculture courses in the Philippines as part of the administration’s program to encourage students to take up agricultural studies in an effort to boost the country’s food production.

In his speech during the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Award, e-titles, and inauguration of farm-to-market roads in Coron, Palawan, President Marcos emphasized the need to highlight agriculture courses, which are significant in the country’s goal to attain a sustainable food supply.

The President noted that most students do not prefer courses in agriculture, prompting the administration to promote and highlight their importance to the country’s development.

“Ngunit kailangan natin ng mga magsasaka. Kaya’t kasama po sa charter ng Agrarian Reform Program na ang lahat ng mga kabataan na dumaan at naging estudyante sa kurso ng agrikultura ay mabibigyan din… ng lupa,” he added.

The President said that land titles will be given to graduates of agricultural courses to allow their venture into agriculture .

President Marcos is hoping that the graduates will maximize their land use. At least 19 agriculture graduates received their land titles from the President during a ceremonial distribution in Coron, Palawan. PND
