President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday reiterated the administration’s unwavering support for local manufacturers and producers in the food and beverage (F&B) sector.
In his speech during the inauguration of Universal Robina Corporation (URC’s) flour milling plant in Sariaya Quezon, President Marcos recognized the pivotal role of URC and the F&B sector in advancing the nation’s socio-economic growth.
He emphasized the contributions of URC in enhancing productivity, supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and ensuring food security in the Philippines.
“We reaffirm our unwavering support for local manufacturers and producers, especially in the vital food and beverage sector, as we look towards a more prosperous Bagong Pilipinas,” President Marcos said.
“This Administration acknowledges the critical role you play in advancing our socio-economic growth—boosting farm productivity, supporting MSMEs, and ensuring the food security of our nation,” he added.
The Chief Executive vowed to foster a supportive role for the private sector through policies and agreements that equally benefit manufacturers and consumers.
“We will continue to create a supportive environment for our partners in the private sector through laws and agreements that promote the interests of both manufacturers and consumers alike,” the President said.
Before concluding his speech, President Marcos commended URC for its steadfast commitment to excellence and urged the company to keep on supplying high-quality flour, supporting local industries, and generating employment opportunities for Filipinos.
The President also lauded the company’s dedication to product quality and community service, encouraging URC to let its values shine in every sack of flour produced. | PND
