The government is now working on developing community- and university-based seed production facilities to boost the country’s food production.
In his speech during the ceremonial turnover of the Korea Partnership for Innovation of Agriculture (KOPIA) Greenhouses and Postharvest Facilities in Quezon, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said the food production facility will sustain the needs of the country’s agricultural sector.
President Marcos said the creation of a food production facility will be led by the Department of Agriculture (DA) with the help of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and other state universities and colleges.
“Through these endeavors, no farmer, no family, no community will be left behind as we strive for a future where agriculture drives growth, nourishes our people, and sustains our nation,” President Marcos said.
Before concluding his speech, President Marcos urged the public to move forward towards a Bagong Pilipinas where every farmer prospers, every harvest brings hope and every Filipino takes pride in the people’s hard-earned progress. | PND
