Pangasinan town exec hails PBBM for granting housing project

PANGASINAN, Pangasinan – Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr. of this town thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the over 500 low-cost housing units granted to the residents here through the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

In an interview on Friday, Lopez said a memorandum of understanding was signed Tuesday between the local government and the DHSUD.

“Malaking pagkakataon ito dahil lahat ng pamilya ay nangangarap magkaroon ng sariling bahay. With this program ng Pangulo, ito ay may mga amenities gaya swimming pool, playground, and mini-park na design. Masayang masaya po lahat at pinapa-fast-track na po namin para maumpisahan na this year ang groundbreaking (This is huge opportunity because all families are dreaming of having their own home. With this program of the President, it has amenities like swimming pool, playground, and mini-park design. Everyone (in our town) is so happy and we are hastening the process so that we could proceed with the groundbreaking this year),” he said.

He also said that once the construction starts, it will take six to eight months to finish the project.

Ang mga beneficiaries ay open basta may capacity to pay PHP70 per day or PHP2,500 a month, walang downpayment kaya kahit mga tricycle operations and drivers (TODA), farmers, market vendors, maaring maka-avail (The beneficiaries will be opened to all provided they have the capacity to pay PHP70 per day or PHP2,500 a month, it has no down payment so even TODA, farmers, market vendors could avail),” he said.

The mayor added that the housing project will be a condo-type with 27 square meters allotted for each unit.

Lopez said the local government has been requesting a housing project for the town since 2019 hence they purchased a four-hectare land.

However, due to the volume of requests from other local government units and the pandemic, he said they were put on the waiting list.

Nonetheless, he was grateful that it was granted in the Marcos administration.

The housing project is part of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program, which is one of the priorities of the Marcos administration. (PNA)
