Batasan ‘no-fly zone’ during Marcos Jr.’s first SONA



The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced Friday, July 22, that it will be enforcing limited and no-fly zones at the House of Representatives in Batasan Complex and its immediate vicinity from July 23 to 25 to ensure security and safety during the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday.

In a statement, CAAP said it has already issued a notice to air personnel (NOTAM) B2088/22 as an advisory for Marcos Jr.’s SONA.

From Saturday, July 23 at 5:00 p.m. to July 25 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., all unauthorized aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles within five nautical miles radius from the surface of Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City will be temporarily restricted.

Meanwhile, training flights from flying schools within Luzon will also be suspended from Saturday, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to Monday, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

CAAP also reminded those arriving and departing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to “expect a delay” due to the restrictions of the event. –ag
