The government will continue to strengthen support for the agricultural sector, this time by procuring mobile soil laboratories for all regions, President Marcos said on Friday.
The President led the inauguration of the first Mobile Soil Laboratory (MSL) in Malacañang, where he committed 16 more units will be deployed in all regions.
“Sa unang bahagi ng 2025, layunin nating maglunsad ng karagdagang labing anim pa na Mobile Soil Laboratories sa buong bansa—isa bawat rehiyon,” the President said.
The MSL, a project by the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM), will increase the availability of soil laboratory services for agricultural stakeholders to ensure sustainable use and management of soil resources and enhance crop productivity.
They will be stationed at the Regional Soils Laboratories of the Department of Agriculture (DA), to serve 10 beneficiaries per day.
The MSL is also equipped with soil test data banking.
| PND
