President Rodrigo Roa Duterte takes time to show his compassion to the wounded soldiers despite a busy schedule. He met the 15 injured combatants, who were flown from Cagayan de Oro City to the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, on June 28, 2017.
The soldiers, who were part of the anti-terror operations in Marawi City, were flown via the Presidential plane.The wounded soldiers were 1Lt. Jerson Jurilla, 2Lt. Nicko James Cabrera, 1Lt. Jobert Jude, 1Lt. Jackeri Dela Peña, 1Lt. Joseph Galapia, PO1 Isarael Ayson, Sgt. Eugene Calipes, Sgt. Rogelio Mirabete, SSg. Joy Santander, Pvt. Mc Riel Omilig, P/Insp. Lorenz Paul Caveria, Sgt. Hermes Orel II, Cpl. Fernando Monderin Jr., PO1 Erwin Dizon, and PFC Michael Ivan PaningbatanThe President awarded the Wounded Personnel Medal to the soldiers and thanked them for their gallantry. He also provided them with financial assistance to help their recovery and aid the financial needs of their families.

President Rodrigo Roa Dutere graces as guest of honor the 140th founding anniversary celebration of the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association Inc. (PCCAI). The event was held at the Fiesta Pavilion of Manila Hotel on June 28, 2017.

Joining the President as guests were Former Presidents Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Joseph Ejercito Estrada.

During the event, the President listened to PCCAI Chairman Emeritus and President Dr. James Dy as well as PCCAI Chairman Dr. Benito Goyokpin as they highlighted the different contributions of their organization to the progress of the Philippines. The President also witnessed the turnover of the scholarship program donated by the PCCAI President.

President Duterte then reiterated his stance against illegal drugs, corruption, and terrorism citing that he will address all these national issues within his term during his speech.
