Clark Airbase, Air Force City, Clarkfield, Angeles City, Pampanga
28 June 2017

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: I will only answer questions from ladies. Lalaki, wala akong maisagot sa inyo. Daily Inquirer, yes? What do you want to inquire?

Q: Mr. President, tanong ko lang po kung didiretso na po ito ng Marawi now to be — for your soldiers?

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: I am flying out. I have a…

Q: I mean, sir, the material donated by China.

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: No, it would pass by an inventory sa DND then it will be equally divided as needed by our security forces and that would be the military and the police.

I would be spending more time in Mindanao because there is still fighting. Every now and then, I go to the brigades to check on their morale, readiness and everything.

So hindi niyo ako makikita masyado dito sa —  unless there is an important appointment. I’d be spending most of my time in Mindanao.

Q: Mr. Secre — Mr. President, clarification lang po. After the inventory, dedicated na po ito sa Marawi?

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: Yes, that will be divided sa security forces natin. When I say “security,” that will refer to all armed men of the Republic of the Philippines: Navy, Marines, Special Forces, Scout Rangers, ‘yan sila ‘yung sa… They are called generically security forces.

Q: Hi, sir. Sir, what role do you think the MILF can play to end the Marawi crisis?

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: Again?

Q: What role can the MILF play? Because, sir, some ulamas think that the MILF should intervene so that the Maute can leave Marawi?

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: I don’t think the MILF is inclined to do that. They also hate what’s happening.

I was with Murad last night. We had an Eid’l Fitr. Nakalimutan ko ‘yung aming [pabuka?].

So the Moro leaders were there and we had a very frank discussion of the things there. It will not end until the last terrorist is taken out.

Q: Sir, would you know… Sir, may we know what you also discussed earlier with former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo?

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: Hindi kita marinig dito. Ulit?

Q: Sir, may we know what you discussed with former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo earlier today?

Ah, wala. Wala man siyang — nagbigay ano pang lakas-loob.

May I — Gusto ko lapitan itong…

Q: Sir, after po ng Botolan, Zambales attack, ano po ba ‘yung assurance na maibibigay natin sa mga taga-Central Luzon na walang Maute or terror group dito sa Luzon?

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: I cannot give you that assurance. It’s a worldwide, it’s a worldwide phenomenon. It’s bereft of an ideology. What they know is just to kill and destroy. That’s what — So wala akong assurance diyan. It’s a mass insanity, actually. Every generation has that kind of ano.

‘Yung panahon ng tatay natin, Hitler was a madman. And yet, he was able to contaminate a lot of people with his ideas about, ‘yung killing of mga Jews, ganon. Papatay by the millions and — for nothing.

Ganon itong ISIS so I cannot even properly respond to a question of what — what to expect in the days to come.

So, if it’s a martial law, I can run the government insofar as issues of security, peace, and order.

Hindi ho tayo pwedeng makialam diyan. If they say that it’s curfew time here, then it’s curfew time. And nobody can question them.

Q: Sir, do you think the Marawi crisis will end before your SONA?

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: I hope so. If it will end tomorrow, then I’d be the most happiest man on — in this nation.

Q: Sir, how would you assess your first year in power? Kasi, sir, first year niyo po—

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: Bagay ka sa ano mo. Well, ako, I do not make any assessment. I only make assessment after my term.

Kasi I’m going… It’s a roller coaster actually. While you are there, it’s a roller coaster. So, it should be at the end of the ride that is…

If I get to live, then I’ll tell you. If I don’t exist anymore by that time, you make your own assessment. Just be fair.

PRESIDENT DUTERTE: No, ang narco-politicians promoted ISIS. Hindi ‘yan… Pati sila hindi nila akalain na the contamination was running very strong.

At ‘yung droga hinahayaan nila. They turned a… They kept a blind eye because nakikinabang sila.
